Integration
Integration is the art of connecting your office systems together, either human or computer. There are four primary goals of integration:
- Reduce errors so you have more confidence in your data
- Make things easier to use so you and concentrate on your core business
- Save you Time
- Save you Money
These are the results that should be achieved in any Integration project. The Hightower Group is committed to make sure these results occur, and that your investment in our services pay off as soon as possible.
We have mostly done integration between custom software products and accounting systems. There is usually a simple way to do this but sometimes not. It all depends on the needs of the client and their software.
Some examples of these integration projects:
Quality Builder Warranty
We created a complete Office Automation system for them. They required summary data to imported into their Accounting system. So under the close direction of the accountant we created a program for the accountant to use at the push of a button. It generated the correct export files, instandly! The accountant, could then import the resulting files directly into his accounting program.
The Results: Although it had a few steps the data went in quickly and accurately so they could see were their financials stood daily. This saved them time and closely mistakes in their accounting
Daily Underwriters of America
One of the requirements of their Insurance Management system was to have an accounting component. So we recommended they purchase an accounting program that we could integrate with. We did this integration with a Software Development Kit (SDK) supplied by the Accounting program’s developer. This provided a direct link between our program and the accounting program. The Accountant pressed the button and all the data flowed automatically into the software’s ledgers.
The Results: Accounting in Insurance systems can be very complicated. They had a fast, reliable and accurate system they could trust. The accountant would then spend his valuable time focused on more important things
Hollywood Intermediate.
We created software that allowed them to receive data from a movie production company containing all the information about the movie after it was edited. They then scanned each frame of the movie through another system. The important tracking data was saved in our system. In the end they required that our data integrate with another program to render the final film product. So we created a module to write scripts in Linux that would automatically run the program and re-compose the final result.
The Results: What would normally take hours of effort was reduced to seconds with perfect accuracy. Additionally they could produce reports indicating their progress on their treatment of the film.
